Headway Introduces Two-Factor Authentication

At Headway, our top priority has always been providing you with a secure and safe trading environment. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the launch of a major new security feature: two-factor authentication (2FA).

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security process that requires two distinct forms of identification to verify your identity when you log in or perform a sensitive action.

Think of it like your bank's ATM: you need both your physical card (something you have) and your PIN (something you know) to access your account. Similarly, 2FA for Headway requires:

• Something you know – your password.
• Something you have – a unique, time-sensitive verification code generated by an app on your smartphone.

By moving this second step from email to a dedicated authenticator app, we are employing a more secure method designed to keep unauthorized users out, even if your password is compromised.

The advantages of using 2FA

Enabling 2FA is one of the most effective steps you can take to protect your trading account. Here’s what it offers you:

• Doubled account security. 2FA creates a powerful barrier against hackers. It drastically reduces the risk of unauthorized access, making your account exponentially more secure than with a password alone.
• Protection for your assets. It specifically secures critical transactions, such as withdrawals and password changes, ensuring that your money and personal data remain under your control.
• Industry-standard technology. We use the Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) protocol, the same security standard trusted by banks and tech giants worldwide. The code changes every 30 seconds, making it nearly impossible to crack.
• Peace of mind. With 2FA active, you can trade with absolute confidence, knowing your account is protected by a “tank-like” defense. We care about your security so you can focus on your trading.

The good news is that you can enable and disable 2FA at any time you want.

How to set up 2FA for your Headway account

We’ve designed the process to be quick and straightforward, taking no more than two minutes of your time.

• Log in and navigate to settings. Sign in to your Headway account. In Personal Area, click on your avatar, scroll down to security settings, and toggle the Two-Factor Authentication switch.
• Confirm it’s you. We’ll send a one-time code to your registered email address. Enter this code to verify your identity and proceed.
• Follow instructions. You’ll see clear instructions and links to download trusted authenticator apps.
• Connect your authenticator app. Open your chosen app and add your Headway account by scanning the QR code or manually entering the text code.
• Verify and activate. Enter the code generated by your app back into Headway to finalize the activation.

That’s it! Your account is now double-protected. Remember: You can enable, manage, or disable two-factor authentication in your security settings at any time.
